Servers ordered through our website before 9 PM ET are setup the same day, typically in a few hours. Our Sales Team is available until 5 PM ET to answer any questions you may have. Orders placed on Saturday, Sunday, or U.S. holidays are setup on Monday or the next working day. Custom quoted configurations, not offered on our website, will have varying setup times.

Does my server come with MSSQL?

Yes, you may select at no additional charge a 100 MB database on a shared SQL 2010, SQL 2012, or SQL 2014 Server. NOTE: This database cannot be divided into multiple databases.

You have the following options to increase the size of the single database:

Do you offer a dedicated SQL Server solution?
Yes, you may add MS SQL Workgroup Edition to your dedicated server for $70/month per CPU, or you may have SQL Server 2010, 2012, or 2014 Standard installed on your server at $225/mo per CPU license fee. Please note that both SQL Workgroup Edition and SQL Server Standard both require an upgrade to Microsoft Standard Edition at $10/month per CPU license fee..
 
Do you provide a backup solution for my server?
Yes, we offer Network Attached Storage (NAS) backup solution. Prices range from $10/mo for 10GB to $120 for 200GB of backup.
 
Is my server fully managed?
Our dedicated servers are not considered fully managed. However, we will, upon request, manage all of the updates and security patches for the operating system.
 
Does Day-Solutions.net offer Unix or Linux on dedicated servers?
Day-Solutions.net is proud to offer only Microsoft Windows Server operating systems on dedicated hosting solutions. To ensure that our customers receive the highest quality specialized services and support available we do not offer Unix or Linux.
 
What is the advantage of having two disks installed on my server?

In the case of a primary disk failure, having two disks allows the server to be rebooted from the secondary disk. This greatly decreases your downtime in the event of a hard disk failure. Without the secondary disk in a hard disk failure scenario, you would essentially have to reconfigure the whole server once the failed disk was replaced. Having the mirrored secondary disk bypasses this as it will contain all of your data and settings up to the point that the first disk failed.

We offer two dual disk installations options. The first option uses Windows 2012 software mirroring (RAID 1) on your server. There is no additional charge for this option other than adding the second hard disk to your server. The second option uses hardware mirroring, a 64-bit RAID controller card, to protect your data for an additional $20/monthly. This option provides the fastest performance and is independent of the operating system.

What server monitoring options do you offer?

Ping Monitoring - All servers are constantly monitored for network availability 24/7. Events such as a system shutdown, network card failure, and system lockups will trigger a failure. If a monitor fails, our support team will be notified immediately to correct the issue. This service is included with all dedicated servers.

Ping & Service Monitoring - Includes an intelligent monitor to poll the individual services on your server.  The HTTP, SMTP, POP3, FTP, ColdFusion, and SQL services will be monitored.  The monitor will send a simple HTTP request to your server and if your server fails to respond, it will send a notification to you.  At that time, you have the option of restarting the server or investigating the particular issue.  When the service returns online, you will receive a "status up" message. This optional service is $10/monthly.

Ping & Service Monitoring with Automated Reboots - This level includes all previous levels and adds automated reboots.  With this service, if a monitor fails for a prolonged period, your server will be automatically rebooted.  A message will be sent to your address with various status messages. This optional service is $15/monthly.

Do you install upgrades and patches to my server?
Yes, we install operating system updates and security patches as they are released and tested.
Can I install anti-virus software on my server?
F-Prot Anti-virus software comes pre-installed on your server. The software includes a real-time scanner as well as SmarterMail integration preconfigured to scan all incoming and outgoing e-mail on the server.
Is there a statistics program installed on my server?

Yes, you will have an administrator login and can install whatever software you like on your dedicated server.

 
Do you offer Coldfusion dedicated servers?
Yes, you may add Coldfusion MX 6.1 or Coldfusion 7 Standard Edition to any of our dedicated servers. Once you have selected a dedicated server configuration, click Order Now to make your final selections. Coldfusion is available as a software option on page 2.

Will Day-Solutions.net move my domain to my new server?

Day-Solutions.net does not update your DNS servers for you. Since you are the registrant/owner of the domain, only you can make this change. Contact your domain registrar, such as Network Solutions or Register.com, and update your DNS servers to the following:

Primary DNS IP Address: 208.65.128.200

Yes, we have installed Cisco’s Firewall Services Modules in our routers, which provide us with the fastest firewall throughput in the industry. We have preconfigured security templates for our dedicated servers that allow you to determine what ports you would like open to your server. A custom template add-on option is also available that lets you specify which ports the firewall should allow to your server.
